My wife called me this morning and instructed me not to laugh. I knew this was going to be the start of a strange day….
She told me that she was at the intersection of Arroyo Grande and Sunset (Henderson, NV) – on her way to work – when an aircraft “relieved its contents” on her Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder convertible.
Fortunatley, the top was up. Yesterday she drove with the top down.
The car’s exterior is covered in sewage, apparently from an aircraft on the approach to McCarran International Airport at 6:35 AM (Thursday, January 15, 2009).
My wife, Cheryl Drucker, was embarassed to say the least when she drove up to her workplace. She is a Senior Accountant at a local CPA firm in Las Vegas, which is located adjacent to the airport. Her associate had mentioned a similar situation he knew about concerning the Dave Matthews Band where their bus apparently dumped sewage into a river. That turned out to be a serious matter.
She was calm when she notified me, but concerned over the severity of situation.
I immediately made several phone calls and sent emails to local Las Vegas news stations as well as the Henderson Police Department. The dispatch person was truely concerned but stated that this would have to be handled by the Metro Police station at McCarran International airport.
The Metro Police person I spoke to had no idea who to refer me to, but eventually conncected me to a man at the Clark County Aviation office, who then referred me to a representative with the FAA based near the airport. At the time of this posting, I am waiting to hear back from him as he promised me he would look into it.
I trust this “health hazard” is going to be handled with serious concern.
Once news station has requested photos, which my wife took at the time of the mishap.
More to come…
